Wayne Grady has published 26 books, including ten books of nonfiction, ten translations from French, and six literary anthologies of Canadian short stories and nature writing. He recently wrote The Great Lakes, A Natural History of a Changing Region, focusing on the area's vast ecosystem in eternal flux. Wayne looks forward to presenting a series of lectures on the Great Lakes, including their geological formation; role in human history; diverse plant, bird, and animal species; and their significant physical, climatic, and environmental features. He is an award-winning magazine writer, a two-time recipient of the Science in Society Award, and a Governor General's Award-winner for literary translation. His magazine writing has been published in Saturday Night, Toronto Life, Harrowsmith, Equinox, Canadian Geographic, Ontario Nature, Omni and Actualité. He lives near Kingston, Ontario, with his wife, novelist Merilyn Simonds.
